Germans not sticking out like sore thumbs.

On a lot of maps -- being that I don't recall any of their names -- I've noticed the Axis Hollywood grey and bluish uniforms stick out like sore thumbs, while in snow maps and maps with arid terrain and corn fields, the Soviets are expertly
concealed in either their thermal outfits or their olive uniforms.

Does anyone agree with me when I say that in addition to the grey uniforms, the Axis deserves some white gear like the Soviets and elementally appropriate camouflage?

Both of which they fielded, of course. I wouldn't suggest it otherwise.
:p

"Axis Hollywood grey and bluish uniforms"

Sorry, but all of the German clothing articles are based on authentic examples- both original and high quality reproduction. There is no "hollywood" influence in our treatment of uniforms. In real-life, the tunics and trousers varied greatly in hue, with early war tunics learning more towards field grey and mid-late war examples olive green.

There are a few maps (like Hedgehog) where it's the Soviets' turn to stand out in their nice yellowish uniforms (against a beautiful green background.) Seems to balance out to me.

On the winter maps, I was kind of under the impression that it was the German military's being ill-prepared (as in not at all) for a winter campaign that left the Germans in their dark uniforms.

I think the way the uniforms are is fine for historical purpose. Having said that I think the server admins should have the option to set different units for each map if they so choose.

1. Default

2. Waffen-SS (both summer and winter camo depending on the map), this would also include different skins for vehicles to obviously make them part of SS units.

I think it is pretty well balanced.

On Konigsplatz Russians generally stick out heaps. Same as on Krasiny Okytabar.

On Kessel...Outside in the snow the russkies are hard to spot..and in the buildings..the germans have the upper hand.

Im not sure why Sage is saying about hedgehog..i can hardly see the russians in that map..espically in a wheat field...but agin..once in a buildig the germans have the upper hand.

Most of the other maps there appears to be no real advantage to either side.

I find i end up spotting up the White of there faces....prehaps we need Blacks in the german side. JK.

Prehaps some Mongolian faces on some of the russian player models...just a touch darker?

The Gerries seldomly had winter uniforms, first off they had counted on taking Russia before winter, second, the following winters they had so hard a time getting supplies to the front it often came down to ammo or clothes, but not both, and obviously ammo was chosen.

A constant thorn in their spine where the Sturmoviks, their attacks where bad enough in summer, but come winter, and the Germans had a very hard time getting their planes airborn, they would simply not start in the cold, but the Russians had many primitive planes that had no problem opperating in the cold, and as a result could hammer down on the thinly streatched supply lines often unchallenged durring winter, it was a turkey shoot!

I agree the germans do stand out...its been a problem since the mod...finially the russians have a nice new skin that doesnt stand out as much as they used to...the winter camo is awsome for the russians aswell...id like to see the germans having a new winter camo skin and having the speckled/dot/splinter camo.
here are some links that give some examples of german camo/outfits (note that ill post more in a while)

Yup. What really pisses me off is when I'm playing Russian and I shoot a teamate who then gets all pissed off. I quietly explain to them that I shoot dark uniforms first and ask questions later.
It pisses me off when peiple dont look at what kind of gun they are holding or what color hat they have on...even more so is when people just start shooting at what ever appears to be black or brown.
Lol new RO players really need to learn about communication and checking to see if that person is a target or not...
That or if your too far to see...then just dont worry about him...radio it in and say that "we may have a possible target at such n' such location, can anyone confirm?"
Or just let someone who is closer take car of em...
It a very harsh reality that soldiers kill their own soldiers because of their attire...why? because of poor communication and coordination.
Both russians and germans would wear white...and if i saw one of my fellow german soldiers from a good distance away...i might think he was a russian and shoot him...but thats what happens when people just run behind enimy lines w/o informing people and communicating back. its a stupid thing that i see all the time...and players get chewed out for it.
I make this mistake all the time and i take blame for killing them...but i dont take blame for the fact that they put themselfs in a posistion that may or maynot make them look like a possible target...best thing to do is to shoot at whats shooting at you...and aim at whats aiming at you...
If it doesnt see you and you dont know what it is...or if the target cant do much harm to you or impare your movement, just radio it in so other know that there is a UNIDENTIFIABLE target.
Id very much like to see Germans wearing winter camo smocks/pullovers and better camo in general be added to the game.
