Enlistment is now open and we have our first full Ostfront battle this Friday 21st April,
We are leaving the password off the server so anyone wanting to come in and just play, or to see if this is for you can join in the fun.

A little Background info.

We started this Tournament out of frustration at not being able to compete and play in a more mature team orientated Tournament, We were using CoD2 and United Offensive from the start of the Tournament.

CoD2 has been DROPPED From the Tournament completly as it does not allow for any real tactical play and is not anywhere near as realistic as Osfront is.

A few of us had played RO the mod and were realy excited about the new Retail game. We have now tested it and it fits well into our goals for the Tournament.

We play the 3 Fronts of the European Theatre of War and have just finished our Eastern Front Campaign, The next phase is the Mediterranean Front.

So it may not quite play out as we had planned to (as we should be playing as Brits against Germans in Africa and Italy). But until we can get the Burning Sands and Normandy Mods. We thought playing a more realistic game was worth sacrificing that bit of authenticity to provide a better INGAME Expereince for all our players.

Battle times as follows:

1300EST - 1700EST. (1800GMT - 2200GMT) BREAK FOR AN HOUR THEN CONTINUES Second Half
1800EST - 2200EST. (2300GMT - 0300GMT)

Our Server IP is: 66.228.116.206:7757

Sundays are our UO battle day. We could not do both on the same day as most of our members play in both games.

We may move RO to a Saturday but even then People go out on Saturday nights also.
Weekdays do not prove to be very succesfull, As we play a battle for 8 hours it get's rather late and people have Work/School the following day. So that leaves Fridays LOL.

So you play the maps for 4 hours a piece?
Yes maps are played for 4 hours a piece at the moment, they are Played for 4 hours because with people being able to come and go as they want to, this gives more people a chance to join in at a time that suits them. and not a strict time as in a clan match.

However we are looking at making it more realistic, Instead of fighting on One map per city, We are thinking of making it 2 maps per city, This would represent a battle for the outskirts of the city on say a rural map and then an Urban map would be played for the inner city.

2 hours on a Rural map and then 2 hours on an Urban map for one City, Then 2 hours on a rural and an Urban map for another city, this gives us our 8 hour battle day.

It runs very similar to BFERO, the main differences being, we do not bid for attacks as they do, Commanders move their Divisions around the map (as in a wargame RTS STYLE). BFERO play 12 hour battles, we use 8 hour battles.

We also accept Clans into our tournament, I don't think BFERO does. Clan Members are also free to join us as it does not affect their clan status, as they are not joining another clan but a team orintated community.

As I have said before Members join in the battles when they have the time, Play for as much or as little as they want to.
It is ideal for someone that does not have the time to commit to a clan but would like to be involved in something more organised than pub play.
