Some questions I have are: how effective was Schurzen, and if it did work, why isn't it still being used (or am I just an idiot and not seeing it)? Seems like it would be a much cheaper (albeit far less awesome) way of doing that.

What I understood on how the system works, is that it detecs the incoming projectile and in a fragment of a second it fires some sort of shaped airburst explosive at it sending a cloud of shrapnels to destroy the warhead.
