I think there is a key bound to change the scope detail (f12 maybe?) and there is also a menu option. Setting it so that there is no 3d scope might fix this.
hyperion you are correct on both. Default F12 changes your scope detail from high detail 3d, to detailed 3d, to flat crosshairs and the black around it. You can also go under display options and click advanced and change the scope detail there too.

I have this problem as well, it seems. Detailed 3D sometimes works, but othertimes I just get a grey circle where the image should be. Changing it to Textured (the flat with black around it) is ugly, but seems consistent.
I want to map the F12 key back to changing the scope detail, but I made F12 something else and for the life of me I can't find the place in controls where it is. Anyone know the user.ini command for F12 so I can adjust it? Is it just F12 = ScopeDetail?
If I accidentally hit the windows key, or alt/tab out of RO and back in the 3D sniper scope can be corrupted. Not every time, but enough to be a concern.
