Resting rifle?

Howdy all,
New to RO so please don't be too harsh.
D/led the game via Steam couple of days ago and loving every minute of it. There is however, among other things, a little trick that I can't manage to achieve. There it goes:
Let's say I have a Kar 98, I crouch near a destroyed wall and go to ironsight. I've noticed a little icon on the bottom right of the screen intended to 'deploy' MGs or maybe 'rest' my rifle on the edge of the wall to get a steadier aim. Is it implemented and, if so, how to do it? I can't get it to work. I believe I have hit every key on the keyboard, first with fingers and then my forehead. Still, no luck...

Tiny bug (proximity thingy) or me being as dumb as usual?

You don't have to use a key to rest your weapon.
Just fool around with your mouse a bit until the icon turns white.

You don't have to hit any key. As soon as you see that little white icon in the bottom right corner means that your rifle is already resting automagically.

As they've already said, you don't have to push anything Just hold your rifle still until the deploy icon goes from transparent to white. You can notice that when you're rested the mouse sensitivity goes down to make it easier to make precision shots.

Indeed a very nice and unique feature. Will pay closer attention to the difference between transparent / white icon on next game.
Damn, I'm about as dumb as I thought... this is bad.
