Cant hit squat with Coax MG

I thought there were suppose to be 4 bullets in between every tracer?
When Im in the gunner's seat of any tank and infantry are very close, I sweep across them with my coax MG and I completely miss them.

I've done this many times. It seems the only bullets that come out of the coax MG are the tracers.

It is very frustrating when I pepper infantry, out in the open with 20+ rounds with no effect when they are 20 feet away.

I've expirienced this in German tanks, Russian tanks, and even the Russian armored car.

I always seem to do better with the bow MG. Much better.

Anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

I can only hit a stationary target 85% of the time, thats if the coax isn't doing that weird thing where it keeps instantly moving to the either the far left or far right.

I think you miss your targets because the coax machinegun is not alligned with the tank sight, so you need to compensate for it.

The coax was not primarily designed for use against infantry (although you obviously can use it for that). The hull or bow mg was defense against infantry, the coax was mainly to confirm the sighting of the main gun. The only way to aim the coax is with the turret movement. If you are finding it inaccurate that is good, it means the modelling is realistic

I've killed tank commanders looking out of their cupola with the co-ax before, from mid-long range

Yeah, the coax is offset from the main sight by a foot or two, so for close range you have to aim to the left of your target (I believe all the tanks have the coax to the right of the gun). I was missing guys too until I remembered that, now I hit them pretty regularly.

I know its offset. And no its not primarily used for ranging your main gun. The ballistics are too different.

At any rate. After playing some more today, it didnt seem to difficult. As it did before. I figured I'd played it long enough to say something...and now this. Oh well.

I don't get why the coax makes the sight shake as much as it does.

Well i personally can't hit anything with the Coax and am good with the Bow MG, while a close friend of mine is deadly accurate with the Coax MG and usually hits with the first salvo, while being worse with the Bow MG.

Its all something about getting used to it and personal preference.

coax is real hard to hit stuff with, but that is as it should be. the bow one, well that is another story. they have way more left-to-right movement than I thought. I am always surprised, "oh yeah, I can get that guy over there"
