Leaning Iron Sight Alignment

To my best knowledge, when I lean around a corner I don't tip the top of my head at a twenty degree angle in relation to the ground, so why would I do so if peeking around a corner with a rifle in my hand?

It just seems to break a bit of the immersion whenever I'm expecting to be poised exposing slightly from cover and maintaining such an akward angle --- it further confuses the position of the shot, since there's the question of whether the graphical rendering placing the ironsights at half an inch to the lean's direction is accurate or not. Trial and error can give an idea if it's one way or another, but seriously, do soldiers tilting out of cover to take a shot usually angle their gun in a way that's contrary to as near a perpendicular plane to the ground?
