So what can i expect

now the game is out, what settings should i put my game on..

i have an AMD 2800+

radeon 9800

512 mb mem

no matter what settings i put it on, it laggs and stutters, and YES I HAVE TRIED NO HDL BLOOM AND MOUSE LAGG OPTIONS!!

help plz? what settings with a system like mine would u recomend, i thought i could run it on HIGH but i guess not

Have you tried looking in your directx settings panel for you graphics card?

You shouldnt use more than 2x AA at most.

Odd, I'm running very close to the same specs (Athlon XP 2900+, 512MB PC3200, FX 5900XT-OC) and getting very smooth results. One thing I have done is tweak my XP install for gaming. Certain items that XP installs by default have been turned off, others have had settings changed. Some seemingly inconsequential changes made HUGE impacts on how well my box plays games.

I won't direct you to a specific guide (there are a ton, use Google if interested), but I will say USE THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK! Change the wrong thing and there's a good chance you'll be looking at a reinstall of Windows!
