Yeah, furthermore, I have trouble seeing the white text in the snow, so sometimes I can't see what I'm typing, or that I'm typing for that matter

I've only seen screenshots and beta footage - but I have to say that the text is very hard to read sometimes. Either a dark stroke around it, a shadow or simply a dark box behind, as you often have on subtitles on the movies etc. For those of the players that don't have any mics the text is crucial. I hope it's fixed already.

You might be right, I haven't played the game (mod or retail), but on some screenshots I have a hard time reading what the text said. I can read the text, but if I was playing the game I wouldn't have the time to really look closely at the words. I think this is quite important, though not the most important thing to fix maybe - but as I said, I haven't played RO (yet)

You might be right there, didn't even think about that. If this is the case then it shouldn't be a problem at all. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it's going to be, it's not far now =)

I have to look at the sky to read anything in the chat "box"... which doesn't do much for my long term survival on the battlefield

I find the font/colour a little hard to see. Perhaps if it was in bold, or a 'slightly' larger font............

I agree with making the font easier to see. Darken the colors, outline them, whatever... I just can't see them.
It's also hard to see the kill messages, which sucks when you're trying to get used to the bullet drop and leading. I can't always tell right away if I killed someone, and if I always check the kill message area, I'll get killed.
