Optimization hasn't changed anything!

My rig:
Q6600 @ 3,1GHz
4GB DDR2 Ram
GTX285
Windows 7 64bit

---------------------

Its hard to say if there is a big difference after the patch because of the maps. But, for me it seems like theres not really a big difference :/ I have everything at medium except shadows (low) and AA is off. Im getting around 25-90 frames. It mostly stays green. <30 frames is not often. I don't know it exactly, but I would say average is 40 frames. It runs okay. But I think, even if my rig is a bit old, I should be able to run it on High.

Really hope that we will see some more optimisations soon!

Btw, "umbra culling" didn't helped much and... LOL @ breadtruck !

6950 2gb
955 BE 3.8Ghz
4gb RAM

Getting solid 15-20 FPS with the latest patch, at least it was only 15-20 FPS dips from 40FPS last patch. Guess the maps are more hardware intensive but goddamn, this is a bit too much. I shouldn't have to run stuff on low with this setup, will just wait until another patch and give it another go.

Same here - HUGE IMPROVMENT!! I just get back to HIGH details with even more fps. (with a last patch and new maps i had to switch to MEDIUM details). Now its HIGH again with really nice boost. :D

Q6600 (stock 2.4GHz !!!!)
4 GB
GF 450 GT (going to buy 2nd this weekend - i hope RO2 will support SLI)

@psycho126
Just set on HIGH detail and see the improvement. Its funny but it have to be optimized for that settings. On mine (quite same rig) MED works worst than HIGH detail. o_O

BTW: 25-40 fps NOT LESS
BTW2: TWI - you did great job with last patch. Just cant wait more TANKS MAPS.

i advise everyone who is getting bad performance to do the following..

1. download a driver cleaner (there is plenty out there)
2. uninstall your graphics drivers
3. run the driver cleaner to get the files the uninstaller missed
4. reboot
5. download latest drivers (ensure they are correct drivers)
6. install latest drivers
7. reboot if prompted
8. defrag. (do this at least once a week i also reccomend using defraggler)

its obviously client side now as the game pretty much runs perfect (needs a few minor tweaks to boost performance even more)

im running an AMD Phenom II x2 550 Black Edition @ 3.11ghz, 4gb ram and a HD6870 and im getting a framerate of 80-90..

it cannot be the game if somebody with a dual core is getting framerates higher than people with x4's and x6's... just doesn't make sense...

anyways, the above steps is what i always do when installing new drivers, it may be timely.. but it sure shows its worth it.

also as for my settings, im using a mix of high and ultra.

2a reboot into safe mode. Complete waste of time without this.

Yes, it is the game. I can run Bad Company 2 at max settings and it looks better than RO2. I have over 100 games on Steam and they all run perfectly fine, except RO2.

Also, AMD and Intel both recommend installing on top of the previous driver because they are designed to do that nowadays. We're no longer in the old Windows XP and 98 days. Plus, driver sweepers can cause more harm than good a lot of the time.

Driver sweeper is very clear as to what to scan for and remove, you get plenty of warnings.

Can you please link to where the two companies say this because everything I see from them/anyone except you advises to use it :)

Im in the same boat as this guy. At medium settings I noticed no performance improvement over high settings. Started delving into the custom settings and honestly moving shadows from medium to high yielded higher fps for me. Likewise with AA but of course that is a given, the shadows however was unexpected.

I went from a good 20-30 fps steady on most maps with most settings on high (except shadows at medium) to a good 40-50 steady fps with all settings kept the same except shadows increased to high from medium.

Edit: playing on a Q6700 oc'd to 3.1 (2.67 stock), EVGA GTX 460 1gb, 1920x1080 resolution, 4gb ddr2 ram, win7 64bit

Great improvement here!

C2D E6750 2.66 @ 3.6 GHz.
GTX260 896MB o.c
4GB RAM DDR2
WIN VISTA 64

All medium (looks and plays great for me),but when i change it to high settings, crashes and not joining servers incoming.I noticed this after 1 hour trying joining servers and fighting crashes.

At last, realism servers are not full realistic now? i mean, all realism servers i have played after update now show relaxed mode things, kill cam, free camera, etc. but they are marked like realistic in server browser.Possible reset?

Thanks.

See us around.

If this is what TW calls optimization I'd hate to see them go through a game and not optimize it. PavlovsHouse is a joke, that map runs at a real smooth 14 frames per second for me.

Spartanovka runs a bit better at 25-30 FPS but thats still not great considering that I was hitting about 30-40 FPS on Danzig. I have an immense feeling that we aren't going to see improvements in performance at retail.

It certainly feels like TWI could give a toss about those of us having performance issues. They'd rather blame our machines (that run other games superbly) than deal with the fact that their game is virtually unplayable on a machine that isn't high end.

I don't think they're blaming machines, but trying to pinpoint issues with machines that might slow the game down. I could bet my life savings that TWI are working on optimization and trying to nail the performance thieves, but until there is a fix there are some temporary fixes you can use to at least remedy the problem.

Can't say I would bet my life savings on the performance being good enough at release though.

It has chenged for me!!!!

gtx570
i5 2500k
4gb ram

1920x1080
everything on ultra ( fxaa high and shadows on high)

60 fps average
almost never under 50
sometimes 75-80

I want to get to rock solid 60 fps in the future!

I mean, it's not perfect but it's a first huge stone on optimization, continue polishing the game TWI :IS2::IS2::IS2::IS2::IS2:
