[Question] Loss of Network

confirmed

confirmed

Confirmed: Server browser shows 0 servers on refresh with or without router.

When I remove the router and plug the ethernet straight into my computer, same thing.

THIS IS NOT A ROUTER ISSUE

or if it is, it's somewhere upstream--perhaps my isp is doing something utterly stupid on their end. (EDIT: I have fiber to my house where the isp has installed a box from which comes the magical ethernet cable; maybe it's their dumb box?)

I'm guessing a fix might be to load fewer servers at a time.

(And the thing about it always listing servers with the highest ping first needs fixed.)

I guess I have the same problem, my whole internet slows down and I can't even go to a site without getting "check your internet connection" but I'm still logged in on Steam and I can talk on TeamSpeak without any problems whatsoever.

Edit: I think it happens when I refresh the serverbrowser because the first time I start the game I see the servers but once I click Refresh it can't find a single one and my connection slows down.

This!

I never had problems with my internet till RO2, and now it's "check your internet connection" every now and then

In other words, huge wall of DoS.
I suppose the server browser is just being too fast. :p

It might be a huge wall of DoS--and that's what I'm afraid of because I think my isp is trying to stop that, because removing my router from the equation doesn't help. I have to restart the router or restart steam (or maybe just in the time it takes to restart steam and the game, the router has reset itself.)

I did set the following settings on my router and I was able to refresh 2 times in a row!

NAT Filtering = OPEN
Disabled SIP ALG

But then I hit refresh a couple times repeatedly and I think that was just too much for it--all the internets went down, no servers.

I have a Netgear WGR614v6 and am encountering the same issues.

My DNS gets flooded when refreshing the server browser so i have to reset my internet connection after i play.

The only way for me to play atm using the server browser is to hope i can find a server i can join when it refreshes at the start, since if i try to refresh again the dns gets flooded and i have to restart.

Ive tried using the google dns service 8.8.8.8 and updating the master server files and both of them seemed to work for a while until now.

I've got the same problem of connecting and "f10 to cancel" and as i said in other tread my pings went to unplayable numbers
That's a great game, i don't even want to play something else because i like RO so much but for not it's just one step above "completely broken" :(( i know it's a beta but in 5 days it's the release date... and players still can't connect to a game

I've had this kind of problem in Killing floor and now in RO2:
When I start the game for the 1st time the servers show up as normally, but when I hit refresh button all the servers are gone. When I close the game and try to use Firefox it says I can't connect to the network, although I am still chatting with my friend through teamspeak or mumble. In Killing Floor the problem doesn't happen so regulary than it once did, but still happens quite often and in RO2 everytime I press refresh I lose all the servers and can't connect to Firefox or any other browser, but I can still chat with my friends through steam and teamspeak or mumble. I find this really weird and I often have to wait for someone to choose a server and join them through steam, but if I had refreshed awhile ago I can't join them through steam either it just says "Can't connect to the server". I've tried downloading the masterservers but it hasn't helped me with RO2, not sure about KF(haven't played it for awhile now).

I am totaly in the dark what's really happening.

I had messages like this in my router log:

FIREWALL rule (1 of 5) : Protocol: UDP Src ip: 192.168.1.2 Src port: 43124 Dst ip: 255.255.255.255 Dst port: 43124 Default Rule Action: drop

and also increased UDP_PORT_SCAN in IDS(Intrusion Detection System)

But since I turned off both Firewall and IDS, I have no such messages.
Nevertheless, Internet browsing simply doesn't work after refreshing Server Browser.
I've also tried lowering Steam rate variable.

I can not even connect to my router web interface 192.168.1.1, or any web page.

But I can telnet to it, and I can ping external IPs, and (mostly) connect via open command.

So I'd like to know what's going on here. Is my router getting swarmed and can't deal with it, or just goes into defense.

I can confirm that, I tried the same thing.
