Little update on this issue, it seems to me that the problem comes from sound.

I succeeded in joining another server, again with very few players and tried to launch an artillery strike, the sound of it made me crash.

And I think that's why it also crashes when you join a full server, because everyone is firing around, so gun sounds makes me crash.

It happens mostly on the Barracks map.
I'm gonna try and see if I can join another map if there's the same problem or not.

I'm on a GTX480 and I ain't got a single crash. Played Barracks, Red October TE/FF and haven't got any crashes what so ever. Some chaps in TS3 crashed out of a server during a rocket strike but I did not. It also turns out that they did not reject the amd_cpu thingy ma bob that cropped up during install when they have intel cards, I did reject however and it's all playing fine. Could this be the culprit?
