So ive had the game for some time now (months before potato update) but stopped playing for a while. so i downloaded the summer update and since after that my game doesnt work.
The game crashes at startup when it first shows the killingfloor title. not when the actual game starts, when that little box comes up to load the game. it loads for a while then when i click on that box it says killingfloor.exe is not responding and i have to end the task. can anyone relate or help.
ive tried change my direct x like other threads say but it didnt work.

Hello,

I've got the same problem at the moment. Everytime I start the game one of these two messages appear:
http://www.imagebanana.com/view/yr2owiaf/kfcrash.jpg

I already tried the following things:
- Deleting the system folder
- Setting the game to directX 8 mode
- Lower resolution and graphics details in killingfloor.ini
- Turning startup fullscreen off
- Running Killing Floor in any compatibility modes with admin rights
....

I don't know what else I should try.
Do you have any ideas?

Flonzo your problem is probably different from the OP. You have a corrupt file somewhere. You should check the integrity of the game cache through Steam (right-click the game -> properties -> local files -> verify integrity of game cache), and if that doesn't solve it then you should run a disk check on the hard drive.
