Rest in peace old chap.
May he rest in peace. Hopfully his goal will be achieved in the near future.
Also just a question, does anyone know the status of European veterans?
Its hard to believe WW1 was that long ago.
Rest in Peace.
It's odd to think; it may seem like time passes slowly, but its only a relatively short time until everything we think of as important will pass into history, and end up as a sidenote in the story of the 21st century. Imagine future students groaning as they have to learn about the Middle Eastern Conflicts of the 2000's for that test.
I can't imagine how nightmarish and boring will be to study the middle eastern conflicts.

I know that here in Israel the last few conflicts like the first Lebanon war of 1982 or the Intifada of 87 are already in the school/university systems
Yup, only when one knows enough History one can truly understand where he comes from and where he is heading to.the interesting thing is that pretty much all middle eastern conflicts of the last 80 years are a direct result of ww1.
Text books here where I live(U.S) don't even talk about anything past WW2. Goes to show how good our education system is.

All of my High School texts went up to the Fall of the Wall, and a few went up to 9/11.
