So what if the army is fighting in the cold winter, do the heroes arms freeze off? And what about the summer? Do the regular guys have to be hotter in the summer too?

I remember i once read about one guy who sayd hes a war heroe and had alot of medals like the guy on left but later i found out that he bought all the medals and he never actually fought in the war.

i think the answer is pretty damn obvious. heroes is a gameplay mechanic, nothing more.

no, the hammer and sickle aren't in your face all the time.
And why no swatstikas? Because those are banned in many European countries, namely from German games, so most indie or smaller comapany games involving the Nazis will use alternate symbols and flags to avoid the laws which would either ban the game or make the devs run through hoops to get it un-banned.
