Why do people prefer british weapons?

The only thing it illustrates is how common it may be to have access to a US born weapon in a setting like this.
Nothing to do with the novelty of preference.

you're right.
It explains why many ppl prefer british weapons, when suggestions are made.

It could illustrate weapon availablility in the UK (dependant on where we suspect they are sourced from), but is more probably telling of how common it is to see US weapons in games , regardless of where it's set.

obviously, we are tired of the m4a1 fanboys, the m4 its a plague weapon! its in almost every game from 1995 to the present! just like m16, m279, m14, m21... duuude get over it... there's so many nice and cool weapons, and let that alone, the game is in BRITAIN only a (furcoat no knickers bit-chess) fool would prefer the already massive seen weapons...

i could kill, or donate a kidney to see the webley revolver, or the l96, or well a lot of em!

the next option, would be european weapons... RK95 (ak series from finland, such a nice weapon), g36k, sig 550, bla bla...

it's not bout hate to american stuff or something like that, i just got tired of the same shapes in the games xD

Good topic and suggestions

Good topic and suggestions

This is misleading. Yes, you would only really find British guns on dead soldiers or destroyed British military bases. But in the world of KF, there certainly aren't ANY shortage of either.

By logical extension, wouldn't you expect to see other sorts of standard-issue British military guns if there are no shortage of them? One really odd thing I found about Killing floor was the use of the 9mm pistol as the cheap secondary defense weapon when the British military typically uses the browning pistol and, more recently, the P226. The other puzzling question is why is the m14 (An American design) used over the L129A1 Sharpshooter rifle or the Heckler & Koch (Hk417)?

In fact, I'm going to make a suggestion here. Why not change the whole way the weapons are currently tiered? They seem to be limiting the addition of more weapons. Tripwire could change m14 from being tier 3 to tier 2 and they should do the same for the Commando. In fact, I would even move towards having 4 or 5 tiers and changing the D.P.S. or area of effect ratios for weapons. They could introduce guns like tier 4 machine guns and tier 4 British Sharpshooter Rifles while limiting their spam by making ammo pretty expensive but giving enough starting magazines to allow the user to survive. The m14 magazine count would rise again to the 14 or so clips, but the d.p.s. would be substantially reduced. Sniper rifles would have massive damage per shot but would be tempered by a heavy recoil effect and ammo would be limited. You would also increase the firing and reloading time. I would certainly have to elaborate my theory a little bit more.

Also, the way you correct for tier 4 having too much power is to introduce a new difficulty mode called "nightmare" or "God-like" where the enemies are faster and have higher hit points, making higher d.p.s. and perk bonuses (possible level 7) less advantageous.

Also, I have one off-topic question. When are the MP5A5 and sterling sub-machine guns going to be added in?

Some of these suggestions have been discussed before in these topic posts:

If the M16 were a worthless weapon, it would not have been the standard issue US service rifle for the past 40 years. It is only now just barely being replaced by the M4, and even in that respect it's going to be "eventually".

The reason the M16 hasn't been replaced earlier is the same reason it wasn't adopted straight away.

Politics.

I hope that helped in some way :)

Politics are never the whole answer to everything.

There's also logistics, cost, and the overall benefit of actually replacing the whole supply of rifles. The M16A4 is apparently not so much of a piece of crap that the US military feels it has to scramble to get rid of it, as any new potential replacements are not such a monumental improvement that they've got to take its place right this minute.

Do I need this new gun now, or is what I've got cheap enough and effective enough and in high enough supply that I can wait for something even better to come along? How much would it cost me to take the old rifle out of service and start producing this new one, then train all the soldiers who've been using the old rifle how to use the new one? How do we replace all the cleaning and maintenence supplies from the old gun with those for the new gun at a low cost? Does it use a different caliber or weight of cartidge than what we already produce and/or buy? Those are the reasons the M16 is still in use, not simply petty politics.

Apparently the ACR is either going to, or being considered to, replace the M4.

Which, not a cowadooty player, is a gun that i like. Just from watching a video on it i see the advantages of the ACR over the M4.

Its very name screams "use me": Adaptive Combat Rifle.

If you need a good gun that fires 7.62x39mmR and 5.56x45mm NATO, then that's the gun for you.
