Those who choose to venture out of Lockharts steam powered rocket first (via an opt-in beta later next week on PC), are going to be experiencing some changing field conditions. Not only will the unique habitat of the moon and the station's own functions offer some gravity altering effects, some weapons and perks have been altered.
First up the arsenal adjustments:
Those of you who are fans of the Compound Bow will find that the cryo arrow explosions now do more damage in a wider area and have an exponential falloff, compared to the linear one before. You’ll also find that you can carry more arrows with you and find more in the field. Mercs will also enjoy the Compound Bow and Crossbow stunning Scrakes more consistently with well aimed headshots!
The Hemogoblin has also been adjusted with slightly increased stats for damage, healing, ammo pool and a slightly reduced reload speed. This should...
Your long journey has come to an end and we have arrived at the glorious Alpha 4 research station, located on the moon - who is laughing at my highly efficient steam powered rockets now! But wouldn’t you know it, those dastardly Zeds are at it again, and have gotten here before us. How, with what I can only assume is new breakthroughs in clown based rocketry - these Zeds never cease to amaze.
Welp, we’ve never let that stop us before, and by us I mean me. So get hopping, and I do mean hopping... this is the moon you know, not much gravity here. We need to find out what happened, and if those... associates of mine discovered anything useful before their untimely demise.
Do be sure to keep an eye out for possible security mechanisms you may be able to turn back on, but remember, you aren’t exactly known to staff...
Scheduled to begin on May 27, 2021 at 11:00am (EDT) and ending on June 1 at 11:00am (EDT), the Chivalry 2 Cross-Play Open Beta will be available for free to all players on PC (via Epic Games Store), the...
Before we explore the space you’ll be visiting as your next destination, we wanted to go over some additional updates to your tools of trade. This time around the lab coats in weapons development have authorized new field usage for Mercs with an Armory Season Pass to bring to the fight. One of these particular new weapons is for Commandos and Supports to master, while the other one brings one of their more unusual designs to brighten up the Firebugs out there.
The first of these, is what they are calling the Thermite Bore. This contraption has been designed to take the molotov and really “stick it” to the enemy. Rounds fired will not immediately burst on contact, giving mercs a chance for more zeds to group up on the target. Sick of waiting, manually trigger to detonation all fired ordnance still down range.
Rounds not only burst into a fireball capable of engulfing several foes, they burn...
As you are probably aware, the Horzine Research Group is always looking for new ways to repurpose existing material in “new and interesting” ways, and today they want to present some of their latest experiments that will soon be “ready” for field testing.
Their first offering is the HRG Bastion. After acquiring a Stoner LMG in a game of chance against some mercs, several of the lab coats decide to work their magic/science to improve it, and to show no hard feelings were had, they designed it with SWAT mercs in mind. To that end they modified it so SWATs could get up close and personal with it, adding a new front facing shield to mitigate damage.
This energy shield can only stay up for so long due to its power draw, so mercs will need to keep that in mind as they hold or charge into the line.
This year continues to be full of strange new outbreaks to challenge your mettle and skill. The latest reports from the field are telling us that in one area, all the trader pods have broken and remain down. In another, well we hope you aren’t afraid of creepy crawlies; the crawlers seem to be leading a charge. Here is what we know:
Outbreak Code Name: Scavenger
While the trader pods are still out there, and slightly functional, it appears that they are only armor and grenades. All weapons will have to be acquired in the field, but it has been reported that there is a higher rate of upper tiered weapons lying about in these areas that seem to mix well with the current party perk composition.
So mercs, get ready to scrounge like you’ve never had to do before, as your life may very well depend on it! It may also be helpful to make sure that the right perks grab the right weapons if you...

Starring the titular and evolved bull shark protagonist – and Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live, Rick and Morty, Archer), reprising his role as investigative journalist Trip Westhaven, Maneater: Truth Quest will take players down the rabbit hole of dark secrets and conspiracies surrounding Port Clovis and the Naval Wildlife Organization (NWO). The original stories of animals growing bone like armor, emitting flesh-eating toxins, or using electricity as a weapon were simply just old fisherman's tales. That is until conspiracy theorists everywhere pointed to the original Maneater as solid proof of a Government coverup. Trip Westhaven, driven the brink of madness, fires up his ViewTube channel “Truth Quest”, to take his followers, the “Questers” into deep waters in an effort to uncover the dark secrets behind this whale of a tale.
“The team has been hard at work on Maneater: Truth Quest and we’re excited to announce the first...
Event Dystopian Devastation (Live until April 20th)
A dark future will arrive for all of us if you mercs don’t do anything about it! Dystopia 2029 is your new destination, join the fight and recover the downtown, explore the smoggy alleys and buildings, and clean the streets out of Zeds. But that is not the only thing you should do for this mission, Blood Thirst and Coliseum, the new Weekly Modes, will be available for those who want to try a different challenge, only recommended for veteran mercs. Sounds like it's too much to deal with? Don’t worry, the last Horzine Research Group experimental weapon has arrived to pump up your decibels, the HRG Beluga Beat.

While you may be about to once again depart for parts unknown, the lab coats in the weapons development team have a few new arsenal additions for you to check out. Have you ever wondered what would happen if you let theoretical physicist majors loose in a lab? No, not that infamous lab, a well monitored and run Horzine one. Well lets just say some exciting new discoveries have been made in the fields of gravity and sound.
For those who specialize in Demolitions, may we introduce you to the Gravity Imploder. Designed to answer the problem of enemies who just won’t stay where you want them to. Featuring two types of rounds, the first generates a small implosion (the lab coats said if they tried to make it any larger, it may start breaking down the local laws of physics and perhaps reality) which will draw your foes towards it. And this is where the second round takes over, bringing that “BOOM” we know you enjoy so much, to your now stationary targets...
With your next assignment heading this way, we felt you were due for a briefing on updated and changing conditions in the field. So let's take a look at the upcoming Quality of Life improvements for all our favorite Zed slayers.
Medics, you know the drill, you do your best to keep the team alive and are often left holding all the complaints. Well this one's for you and your teammates to enjoy together: HUD indicators for medic buffs.
Medics using Adrenaline Shot, Focus Injection and Coagulant Booster will now trigger the following HUD indicators when the effects are in play.
The initial DOSH a player is granted on joining a mission has also been updated. Horzine has decided to be a little more generous so that those joining late in a mission have more opportunity to provide a meaningful impact and not just another meal for a hungry Zed.
You know you Mercs are at the top of the list we call and send in first when something strange happens, but after what happened the last time... Well let’s just say the suits upstairs want expendable eyes to recon a new mystery. A city this time. Which, interestingly enough, has seemed to pop up out of nowhere. No record of it on any maps we are able to dig up, digital or otherwise.
We’ve picked a few blocks just east of the city center, office buildings, open spaces, once busy streets, you know the type. As always we urge you to exercise caution during this mission. What’s still out there, and working, may not be for much longer, especially as you toss around bullets and explosives. What we’ve seen of this place so far looks like some of this tech is both familiar, but yet uniquely different. As if science had taken a slightly different path a few decades ago, leading to a new dark...
We know many of you can claim to have seen it all! From the exotic to the urban jungle locales and the Zeds that creep even into your dreams. Perhaps you should think again, as reports are bubbling up about new outbreaks headed your way.
If you find your team or yourself feeling a bit “extra” bloodthirsty when fighting off a horde of Zeds, odds are you have run into the first mutation. Aptly named, well: Bloodthirst
While active, the major side effect is known to include the rejection of all healing except from one source, the blood of your enemies. Other side effects include feelings of power for a limited time when larger creatures of slain. So do what you do best mercs, and get out there and kill some Zeds. It may just be the only way you are staying alive, as field reports show that mercs will be gradually losing health out there!
The other new outbreak spotted in the wild? Well, let...
As a follow up to our State of the Game 2020 message, I would like to give you all a peek into our plans for 2021 with the Season Updates so that you have some clarity in what we’re hoping to accomplish and target for the year. I want to strongly emphasize that all these plans are subject to change as we progress through development, go through iteration and playtesting to see what works and makes the cut for release.
For 2021, we’ll once again be partnering with Saber Interactive throughout the year to deliver a similar level of content and features to what you experienced in 2020. To get more specific for our next upcoming Spring 2021 update targeted for release at the end of the quarter, here’s a high-level bulleted overview:
Finally, after three years and popular demand, we’ll be looking to expand the roster of weekly outbreaks for the next update. We’re...

As 2020 soon draws to a close, it's important to once again look back at the year to see where the game has been and look ahead to the future for what comes next. This past year has certainly been a challenge for everyone in the world, so right at the start I would like to send a heartfelt thanks to our entire community that has grown and supported us throughout the year. Your commitment to Killing Floor 2 is what enables us to do what we do and pushes us to go on.
This year we added the Epic Games Store to the fold for KF2, which added millions of new owners to the community to experience the special carnage that is Killing Floor. We’re floored (no pun intended) by that many new fans over 5 years after Early Access launch, which brings the total to nearly 30 million people who own a Killing Floor game over the years of the franchise...
