CTB Update Patch Notes - Friday Playtest Details

    Major Skirmish Change: Wave Deployment
    This CTB is primarily to test the new wave-spawning system for Skirmish, which changes the way players deploy when playing Skirmish. Now, rather than running down the enemy team's reinforcement using a spawn timer which affects people per-player, capturing objectives increases the number of available waves during which your team is able to spawn.

    The number of waves available to you at the start, along with when waves "expire" is displayed on the Skirmish HUD widget at the top of the screen on the tactical view:

    Damage Model Adjustments
    Worth noting from the 1.06 preview patchnotes and CTB builds available at:

    Are the changes to our damage model which we would like to also test in this wave of the CTB:
    • Changed the abdomen damage values so that the whole torso can now be a one-hit kill. This should substantially increase the viability of semi auto battle rifles and bolt-action rifles
    • Reduced the damage of 5.56 and 7.62x39mm rounds marginally compared to the larger-calibre 7.62x51 and 7.62x54mmR rounds. The overall effect should be that the large-calibre rounds are lethal to the center mass, whereas the assault rifle rounds should take 1-2 shots, depending on the exact hit location.
    • Made further adjustments to player hitboxes for damage taken from bullets, to make damage taken more predictable across the player damage zones. This change does not affect damage taken from melee, incendiary, or explosive damage.

    Loadout Changes
    • In this wave of the CTB we have removed the RPG role from the NVA and NLF factions in Skirmish, please feedback to us on your experience with this change through the usual channels!

    Commander and Squad Leader Level Requirements
    • In response to community feedback this wave of the CTB features level restrictions for playing as both Team and Squad Leaders - the requisite levels for these roles were voted on by the community and are as follows:
      • Squad Leader - Level 15
      • Commander - Level 25
    • Players can still lead a squad under the level threshold, however if a more experienced player who does meet the level requirement joins that squad they will be automatically promoted to Squad Leader. Underleveled players are not able to lock squads.

    Known Issue
    [*]There is a known issue in this build of the CTB, where if a player enters a match running a game mode they have not played on the CTB before the screen will flash yellow and orange momentarily before loading. This is because of an issue with a new feature we are adding for 1.06 which will play a Tutorial video the first time a new player enters a new gamemode.
