Cannot Access Mic Config Menu

cant access the mic config menu due to the fact that when you click on the menu button in settings it brings up some weird steam overlay. Totally unable to communicate in game as cant configure mic. Vid here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZouzHUaKNk

Oh boy, your using big picture. When you click on that its supposed to bring up something like this in picture related:

Maybe try to do it before you start the game or don't do it with big picture mode?

ive tried at the beginning before map starts and i dont know why it comes up in big picture mode or how to change it, any ideas ?

just had a little google about this and saw you can change it in settings then interface. I went into that and big picture isnt checked so not sure why this is coming up but more importantly why is that menu coming up anyway when the microphone config menu should come up

unplug your controller and you'll not have this new steam overlay (it is not big picture but the overlay you have if you start the game with controller, it came with last RS 2 update, something not in changelog I think like too many things everytime).
