Hello everyone I have recently been gifted this game by one of my close friends and really taken well to it. One of the things I really love is the inclusion of other factions besides the US Army such as the US Marines and ANZAC forces. I think USAF Security Police would be a great addition that offers unique weapons and equipment. As a active duty USAF security forces member I know of a few notable engagements my Security Police predecessors participated in, as well as the equipment of the era. Here are some photos from my unit's heritage room depicting significant actions.
USAF security police deployed some intersting weapons at the time as well. included are:
M15 revolver
M13 revolver (snubnosed variant)
XM148 grenade launcher
XM174 grenade launcher
Mk 20 grenade launcher
M67 recoilless rifle
Uzi 9mm submachinegun
Surplus WW2 era equipment to include the M1 Garand, M1 Carbine and M3 submachinegun.
During the Vietnam war and up to the mid 2000s USAF security police was responsible to provide itself with indirect fire support with 81mm mortars.
Security Police from Vietnam to this day make heavy use of military working dogs to protect airbases from infiltrators. I'm not sure if MWDs could be implemented in the game.
To separate them from US Marines and Army, Air Force members wore blue berets, stylized helmets with their wing insignia etched on them, ball caps, as well as different uniform tapes and rank insignia with ascots and Brassards being common issue. Some SP units were issued blue jump suits that were also used by civilian SWAT teams in the same era.
Lastly here are some examples of locations with significant engagements with USAF Security Police:
Da Nang Airbase
Bein Hoa Airbase
Tan Son Nhut Airbase
Phu Cat Airbase
The Tet offensive had major impact on US Air Force assets stationed in country, with several airmen killed or wounded fighting off waves of North Vietnamese.
