Now that the ANZAC's have been released there have been a few shake ups, Vietnamese are now on attack and US and AU are now on defense.
There have been some mechanics in serious need of revising now that the roles have been reversed but I will specifically focus on weaponry and equipment.
One of the biggest problems is that the NLF and PAVN lack a lot of offensive abilities, several classes are almost worthless in their current form, the scout has almost no offensive capabilities, but is also the sole class in possession of the smoke grenades. Mines are basically useless at this point, especially the tripwire one, which takes far too long to deploy to even be effective.
There are also some discrepancies needed for Southern forces, mostly that flamethrowers are allowed for defensive maps.
Some ideas to help the NLF/PAVN is to re-roll the 'Sapper' and 'Scout' class to be more offensively oriented.
PAVN/NLF
Scout:
Scouts are almost entirely defensive right now, making them pretty much useless for Attacking, as all load-outs are purely made for defensive purposes.
I suggest revising the scout into having a form of indirect combat abilities, the Vietnamese liked covering attackers positions with forms of indirect fire, and besides having more than one machine gunner in Long-Tan.
My idea is to give the attackers rifle grenades, as there has been proof that the North had access to SKS rifle grande from Yugoslavia, and AK rifle grenades from Poland. It'll give the North some much needed firepower even if not as good as the US' grenadier.
Loadout 1: M59/66 With x2 Rifle grenades, Tokarev/Makarov.
Loadout 2: AK WZ-60 with x2 Rifle grenades, Tokarev/Makarov. (Quite rare, so perhaps only PAVN?)
Sappers:
North Vietnamese sappers were notorious for their cunning an abilities during the war, they tended to be heavily equipped with large amounts of explosive equipment such as grenades, satchels, mines and bangalore torpedoes. Heavier equipment included reconciles rifles, RPG's and flamethrowers.
I was thinking into turning these people into a light infantry type setup, with a ton of explosive, since mines are pretty much useless in TE situations, and Bangalore torpedoes probably can't be represented in this game, I reckon to give them a ton of higher quality grenades (Such as the F1 or the RGD-5), a satchel charge or an LPO-50 flamethrower.
Proposed load-out:
Loadout 1: PPSh-41 (Ideally the PPS-43, but the PPSh is a good substitute)/MAT-49, x6 F1/RGD-5.
Loadout 2: PPSh-41/MAT-49, smoke grenades, satchel charge x2.
Loadout 3: LPO-50, Tokarev/Makarov.
Interesting things!

Southern Forces:
It really makes no sense for the defending team to use flamethrowers, and flamethrowers have a small range, very limited ammunition (about 8 seconds of fire), and would be more of a danger to destroying allies fortifications than hurting enemies.
Replace ANZAC combat engineer from M-9A1 to M37(or M-870 for ANZAC's case). with 2 White phosphorous grenades to help get NLF out of trick positions.
I would also consider having sniper option removed from ANZAC's, as marksmen were not a part of the Australian's doctrine during the time, and their entire arsenal consists of about a dozen XM-21 entirely. Especially get rid of the silenced XM-21, I've never heard of and Aussies using it, not even the SAS.
