Now the TE An Lao and TE Song Be have The North Vietnamese on the attacks side I did want to give my thoughts on both the map and the team.
TE An Lao
The first few points seem rather good, however, capturing both D and E together is nigh on impossible for the Vietnamese, they are too far apart, too well defended and far too small for the Vietnamese to defend one while attacking the other. especially considering the Vietnamese only have a single artillery strike and both points are relatively effective for covering conventional artillery.
- US shouldn't get flamethrowers while defending
TE Song Be:
Song Be is a ****ing Turkey shoot for the US, the North Vietnamese have no mechanical assistance and will have to attack the points though either open field, or a shallow lake, The tunnels are useless as the can be easily defended with only one or two people. The helicopters are completely dominating too, even if an RPG or AA were to take it down they re-spawn basically immediately, the Loach is especially bad as it pretty much can reveal the entirety of the attacking force and all the tunnels in one swoop. The US is massively over equipped too, the weapon superiority, map control and 3 different commander attacks can just stall a Vietnamese attack, it's especially bad on the first two points, where a well placed napalm or Loach can actually completely wipe the entire armies default spawn.
Give the NVA more spawn areas, more troops, more attacking routes and some ****ing way to fend for themselves in their spawn point!
-US shouldn't get flamethrowers while defending
US:
There are two big problems with the US' balancing right now, one is that they are woefully overequipped for defending the second is their spawning ability.
- Overequipped:
While the US do get an upper hand on individual equipment, it's quite flavorful and suits the setting quite well! The biggest problem is the helicopters, they are far too prevalent right now. The DshK's are placed in a very horrible area which is more likely to get the gunner killed than the helicopter. They can spawn rape with far too much ease and if an AA or RPG downs it, they are back within no time. NVA need some way to defend their spawn zone and helicopters need to spawn much less than just a normal respawn.
- US also shouldn't get flamethrowers while defending
- Spawn system:
Right now, the US spawn system is cheesy as hell, a squad leader as of right now, can just sit in the back of a defense zone and let soldiers spawn indefinitely on the zone. It's cheap to kill a platoon of soilders on the way to the defenders, only for them to be on the point before you can anyway.
IIRC the entire tunneling system was designed to help get rid of this system that in place right now, I'd like for the US to have a system like this too, perhaps bring back the transport heli's or something, make it risky to spawn close to the zone or something.
NVA:
Right now, the scout/sapper class is borderline useless as an attacker, the tripwire traps are too slow to set up and don't have nearly the range of claymores (Which are situational at best as an attacker), the Mat is probably the worse gun in the game, and the Coach is a bit too situational to be 100% reliable.
This is just a rough idea, this is what I'd see as potential, little gun attack but a ton of explosives:
Sapper:
- Loadout 1:
Guns choice:
- Mat-49
- MP-40
- PPS
or
- Coach gun
equipment choice:
- x6 Russian type grenades (F1's, RG or RGD's )
or
- x2 Satchel charges.
- Loadout 2:
Guns Choice:
- SKS with grenade rifle style grenade launcher.
- AK with rifle or cup style grenade launcher
- Loadout 3:
- LPO-50/RKOS flamethrower
