Stutter video

You can see how bad it is crossing the court yard. That's at 90 fps.

None of the usual suggestions fix it, nor would you expect them to.

Only thing I haven't done is put it on an ssd.

Win 10, instanced rendering on, ssao off, framerate smoothing off (makes no difference).

Just to point out that this is a reasonably common issue for people going by the forums, and it will substantially impact your tail on sales.

Obviously that is close to unplayable for this sort of game.

Watch as he crosses the courtyard. You can see the large skips.

It's so pronounced and the frametime so poor it shows up on a 30fps video.

If you can't see that you can't see stutter. Which is good for you, you'll never be bothered by it.

I'm sure Tripwire know about it as they've mentioned it in numerous patches, they just can't really fix it.

It's unmistakable in this one.

The fps is low but that's not the concern, you can clearly see major hitching as it strafes left.

The game is unplayable like this, and it is like this in most maps.

Hope you manage to fix it TW, you can't expect that sort of thing not to limit your audience.

Runs good enough in Hill937, poorly in other maps, I'm sure you've got a rough idea of what is causing the issue even if it can't be fixed.

Yeah I get the same crazy random stutter now on all maps, I think since last couple of updates ago. I get about 80 to 99 frames avg, nothing helping. Unplayable currently. I play at 1440p 21:9 and tried 1080p and same issue.

I know there are threads that say Windows 10 is causing game stutter thread, could have started around the same time as 1709 release, but dunno I haven't played a great deal of RS2 in last few months. Currently on Version 1803, build 17133.73.

Don't think it's anything to do with map optimisation as I get it on Hill, which I consider to be the most optimised.

Edit: Alright I just checked my CPU unparking and sure enough it was back to parked for all cores, would have been the last Windows update. I always unpark (Intel [email protected]) which has fixed stutter in previous games eg Battlefield 4. Seems to be fixed after testing fore a few hrs, loading RS2 first then several other games then RS2 again, no more stutter. Hopefully doesn't change.

If anyone is interested the app I use is here. You may have better luck with the newer version which I've not used.
