Tactics Extremely newbie question

hello guys

I used to play RO, and now I'm back, but I'm kind of outdated and rusted,
I have been finding a little bit problem to understand a word (and my first language is not english so is kind of hard) and when you guys say "Caps" or "Capping" what does it actually means?
In a lot of tips I saw that everyone recommends this, is it capturing, or covering? and how do I do that, because you get 10 points.

Stay in the capzone until your team's color fills the little bar at the bottom of the screen. Capzones are marked on your map (press o).

Look at the map.

Move towards the next target.

Continue until you see a red/black bar on the bottom of the screen.

When in "CAP" it is a good idea to hide or find a good spot to kill the enemy as the enter the CAP zone.

Sometimes the stars (Russian) or crosses (German) on the map are gray colored...

This means you cannot capture that spot yet.
