hey all, just a new player question. is incremental tank control just preference or are there valid reasons why it is worth using?

I use it because sometimes you dont want to be going full speed. For most situations, it wont matter, but every now and then, you will need it, and you cant be opening menus in-game to change that kind of thing and live.

In some large maps like Orel it's handy because you don't have to push the forward button all the time. You can just steer the tank to right direction, set full power and go get a cup of coffee and the tank drives itself to battle.

if you don't use it in a map like orel you vvill be vvriting like in chat this when you are driving to join the action.
but i think non incremental throttle is an great advantage that lets the tank break and change direction unrealistically quicky.
If it was up me it would be the only option for tanks.

You know you can break with the 'jump' key even with incremental throttle. So they arent at any advantage, but just dont have as many options. Like I said, there really is no reason not to just have it on.

yeah i know- but i still recon you can get going in reverse quicker with non inc. throttle. Dunno why, but it feels less sluggish.

incremental also needs to be used on some infantry maps so that it can be used as a shield a lot of people dont think about this level of teamwork though sadly.

i found it quite easy to ride the throttle on and off and keep a very balanced speed for that sort of thing.
