Hello to the RO2 community!

Old School DoD:S player checking in! I've always had a soft spot for WWII shooters and after playing endless rubbish modern set shooters I'm looking to come back to the 1940's!

One of the main reasons is I've always liked the class based system that worked in DoD, DoD:S and RO. Each class has its advantages/disadvantages against other classes which creates better team play in my opinion. When everyone is packing assault rifles that fire 500 rounds a minute it takes that away and seeing as most are built for consoles these days...I suppose they have to make it easy for the analog warriors ;)

I'm actually looking for a clan for teamplay over ts/vent aswell as a server that doesnt have any of the follow; Ivan1, Ivan2, Ivan3, Ivannabeinyourpants, Ivannatakeadump etc etc.

I'm 24, from England, play rifleman and played DoD:S to a decent level back in the day on ED.

So yeah wheres the party at?

Just watch out for the guns...they'll get ya ;)

Add me on steam; [email protected]

Welcome!

I too come from DoD:S (rocket trooper specialist :D). I think you'll enjoy this game a lot. Be sure to check out the beta for the new features which I feel add a lot to the game (plus the new beta map Mamayev is built for riflemen :)).

For finding servers populated by lots of humans, do what I do: sort servers by population, look for a heavily populated one with a ping <150, check the lower right of the browser to see if there are a lot of names, if so, join :).

Cheers,

Burgandy check out the First Cav, at thefirstcav.com, the LTC and I have been trying to introduce RO2 into the ranks more, a decent ammount of the unit has the game already, we just need more people to get them to play. Check out the website and you can reach me on steam at dfdfbacon. Also, RO2 isnt our only game, the unit also plays MW2, MW3, BF3, Minecraft and a whole lot more.

Welcome to Stalingrad.

Wow what a response! I've been on the 40-1 mostly and theres some good team play to be had there :)

Krobar - I've seen some 1stCav players about so may drop by your website sometime :)

Fruitbat - Yes it was a pain getting to that last building! Damn you Ivan!

Sheps - I played that too! I loved the old DoD and was a die hard but eventually Source converted me glad it did though I was in a team called Team Asylum on ED and we had a blast! Anyway they messed that game up by introducing that rubbish stuff from TF2 with the 'Nemesis' and all that crap. Such a shame.

Anyway thanks for all your advice and I hope to see you on the battlefield! :)

key is to find servers under 150ms. if it's over, don't bother it will play like rubbish, just like any game would. Protip remember this is server side calculated so your ping will determine your lead time on your moving targets. Once you get dialed in, make sure to check your ping so you know when you are @ Xms you aim here, and when at Xms you aim there.
