Hmm if we had a bit of a time machine here I would definitely consider telling TWI 3 years ago to just make the RO1 tanks with perhaps a bit higher detail. Sure the interiors are pretty, but If I really had to pick between 30 tanks on release or the two broken ones we got... .. is there any competition there?
The central question for me in this poll is.. do we need animations in the interior.?
No we dont.
They add nothing to the playability of the game and are just another one on a long list of things that annoy about the tanking inadequacies. The TWI human time resource that is used on animating this unnecessary feature, should be spent fixing the tank engine and making additional tanks
I despair at how this game is taking so long to become playable and enjoyable for the majority of my friends list. Tanking animations need to go completely. They were an interesting idea when I first heard about them, but the implementation did not work.

I have to agree.
Well its obviously a face palm because he now realises what he has been missing in tanking. Its one of those"why didn't I think of that face palms"Care to elaborate?

The animations of change-position were given to add a REALISTIC "delay" instead of the teleport
I really like the animations. It's nice to see a developer trying new things and taking risks.

Do you know how much work it requires? Replacing the animations we have with a black screen and a message that says: "switching to xxxxx position" would speed things up by 10 times and even more.
I seriously hope that they tweak the code so that the modders don't have to make the whole interior/texture the whole interior/make dozens of animations/code the animations. Personaly, I don't have the time to learn how to animate characters. If they don't place a limit on your field of view inside the tank/replace the switching seats animation by something like a black screen, I'm just gonna leave and mod on an other UE3 game, simple as that. And for the heck of it, just visit the modding forum. You'll see how many people are still interested in making custom content. You and Prax are seriously kidding yourselves if you think TWI are gonna cut corners like that, having already done it the hard way. It wouldn't be consistent, and people would scorn it as shoddy work.
I too, would rather have that kind of Arma 2-style corner cutting than less content, but its too late. (Also as Yoshi says, animations aren't the big issue)
