Hey Ramm-Jaeger what happened to hero status & MkB42H/AVT40 being rare weapons?

I don't really care about small developers or developers who haven't sold out. I just want a good game. A lot of people were coming to Tripwire's defense before the beta release, implying that Tripwire was the last honest game developer out there and that we should be patient, etc. Some went as far as saying Tripwire will "save PC gaming" or is "flying the flag." But after the game's release this seems to have changed quite a bit, with some former tools questioning their allegiance.

The quality of the product, at the end of the day, is more important than the characteristics of the company that makes it.

The Mkb/AVT situation is a huge let-down, and I really wish the response to this wasn't "Tripwire is a small developer. Be patient. Have faith." They assured us that these weapons would be scarce. There have been efforts to limit them, but not to the level I think most of us expected.

I still like the game, though.

As far as i know, bandaging only stops you from losing health. It does not regenerate your health points.

Of all the things to respond to in this thread since your last response you chose that. Good grief man, do you have no sense of self-preservation?

Simply reading through this thread (amongst others) in combination with terrible patches that don't address core balance issues, that don't fix problems they say they do, with developer representatives who clearly obfuscate the truth with reckless abandon (and therefore don't respect those who pay them) and a release that should still be in beta has made me now and for sometime in the future break faith with TWI.

Gentlemen, you shall no longer have my patronage unless things change significantly at your end. Your ideas of balance are confusing and misguided, fixing performance is literally in reverse and your so called 'wish to stick to historical accuracy' regarding weaponary is a joke.

For all the above, I am sorry and apologise, but I see no other course of action but to voice my discontent and be done with it.

Same here.

i got 3 of my friends to buy this game by promising them it was a realistic and authentic shooter; as it stands i look like a moron now. My friends will probably never trust my recommendations again, and in turn i wont trust TWI again.

TWI was one of my favorite devs, i really am sad now :(
I tried convincing my friends to buy RO2 w/o success, they love the BF series and hate COD.. Now im waiting for BF3 with them, and im veryyy happy they didnt listen to me.

BF3 will too have realistic reload animations, sounds, realistic looking weapons, sane destruction, deployment, suppression.. but do any of those make it a non arcade game (not even talking about realistic)?
Me thinks same can be said about RO2, because in the end the gameplay is what matters, and its as spammy, fast paced and suicide W+shift+full auto rewarding as BC2.

So many little things like small maps that funnel you to tiny objectives, bandage speed, sprint speed, sprint->rdy to fire speed, assault rifles, unlocks for the sake of unlocks etc, add up and make RO2 an arcade WW2 shooter over anything else.. and FH2 was fulfilling this role in a much cheaper, balanced and not frustrating way.

Its prolly hopeless to mention it, but the speed at which you can sprint over rubble, stairs and everything is ridiculous, especially when most people have slow *** firing weapons. Sure it might be realistic, but only on flat terrain and w/o much wierdo gear like the Ruskies in game are wearing.

(I wonder if this post will make it past the censors? My last two posts didn't.)

I think this is a fantastic comment, and one that sums up Red Orchestra in a nut shell.

The thing is that as it stands now, if you read the forums, that TWI seems to have diluted what their strength was and what the RO brand was built on--realism centered around the bolt-action rifle. It's a pretty unique dynamic, and I think people felt a sense of comaraderie and identity when they were one of a dozen (or two) people with identically awkward weapons on their team. Nothing takes you out of the mindset of present day warfare than a weapon that is not used anymore, and by having the boltie as the heart of RO 1, TWI had a unique selling point. Now the design has marginalized those bolties.

I agree.

Also didn't Sasquatch say the dev team intentionally added more automatic weapons?

They made it arcadey on PURPOSE! lol

And this is completely the opposite for what im here for.
If RO1 was frustrating above anything else (for me), It at least made players behave realisticool even though everything was exaggerated as if youre playing a grandpa with a 15kg weapon, and it fo sure didnt reward this kind of play: youtube.com/watch?v=fk3lBJcK3as (call of redorchestra, re post)

Cant there be some middle ground between the two, and dont start about mods, mod tools are no excuse for releasing a game that heavily depends on the players to finish it for the devs fo free like ARMA2 fo exmpl.

Well no answer is an answer too. TWI will lose their most faithful fans and supporters in exchange with a younger more superficial and moody type of buyers. Advertising works much better on them but also they wander off to the next graphic and weapon porn and as TWI are rather small and cannot deliver the highly polished COD likes. I wonder who takes these decisions? Someone lost touch with earth it seems...
I always thought highly of Ramm-Jaeger and TWI as a company but there is no reason anymore. They don't seem to care about their community and are going for the quick buck and break previous promises.

What remains is a broken non-innovative gameplay that hardly separates itself from COD, BC etc.
Good luck with that business model and I hope for the mods to fix what TWI is not willing to deliver or unable to do so.

Good luck with the current business model and gameplay choices as I see RO2 not to stay for years as I expected it to but to disappear with the upcoming big titles coming up. The niche is gone and from an objective point of view RO2 is just average atm. RO1 kept me fascinated for 3 years or so....RO2 is boring after 1 week!

Maybe TWI does not want to anger the DDE buyers when they cant choose the MKB and AVT in a jiffy.
