C96 only used by Lufwaffe?

Ah, okay. I'm fairly certain it is called the C96 Mauser in game, though.
Correct, because the M712 Schnellfeuer (which simply means rapid fire) is a type of C96. People frequently refer to the C96 Mauser as a single weapon, but there were actually many different variants with different calibres, different capacities and different sizes, quite a number of which saw use in the German army. The wikipedia entry has quite a long list of them and I suspect that even then it's not complete.

The one seen in HoS is mostly likely a standard 7.63x25mm, 10 round stripper clip loaded variant; i.e. the one that most people think of when they think "C96". It could potentially be the Red 9 (chambered for 9mm) but I'd say it's unlikely.

In my opinion I think the Mauser HSc would be a more logical choice as a sidearm for the Germans, especially Heer Officers. Ive rarely, if ever, seen a Mauser C96 in combat photos, whereas many will remember seeing this mauser HSc in many war movies, mostly used by officers in occupied countries such as France.
