I think the police are becoming less and less respected because of the media and music. I am seeing "**** the police" more and more on Facebook every year which is very alarming. For some reason, people think it's cool to resist authority and the law. I've never quite understood it myself, but it doesn't help when music is constantly chanting **** like that. I think a lot of it has to do with the Media. For example the police do something wrong in some area and the Media are all over it. Then people start thinking those bad traits belong to all the police; guilt by association.

Unfortunately that happens a lot.

I mean drugs, drinking to get drunk, picking fights for no real reason. getting stretcher piercings, rap, sagging pants with high underwear, being "gangster" flat brim hats with the sticker left on it, jersey shore, cowadooty, autotune, and pop stars who come out of nowhere with no effort.

I look at this generation of degenerates and i'm frankly disgusted.

I'm quite sad that people like RJD, Rhandy Rhodes, Sid Vicious, Ian Curtis and the like have gone, and "artists" like lil wayne and justine bieber can come out of nowhere and be the biggest thing pop has seen.

I am disappointed that Bioware had a beta for SWTOR, yet didn't listen to the feedback. When TOR launched and millions of players found so many things wrong with it and stated their findings, they were banned for trolling and the TORtanic sailed on towards the iceberg.
I hate that Activision can **** out the same Call of Duty game year after year with a few small changes, call it a new game and charge $60; and people buy it. I also hate that everyone is cashing in on Call of Duty and making codclones; originality is gone and they are effectively plagiarising. Brink had such potential as an FPS to radically change the genre's approach to how FPSs played, and instead they not only went multiplat, but made it a console port so everybody lost. Consoles are fine for playing games, but back in the golden days new consoles came out every few years, they were innovating games and games were unique. The devs were taking risks and trying new things and games weren't all brown n' bloom shooters.

I likes shooters as much as the next person, but i like my shooters to have originality and soul, like Killing Floor and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Those games do their own thing and do it well. Besides making a great game, GSC tried to improve and innovate with their later releases; whether or not they succeeded is up for debate. Crysis was a benchmark in sandbox gameplay and graphics. Crysis 2 cashed in on Call of Duty, and in that sense went multiplat which bottlenecked the gameplay and game performance.

The mass media hypes up one new person who came out of nowhere and with the crutches of autotune and a team of songwriters win the hearts and money of millions of teens around the world. Meanwhile real music is being made where bands are playing for years before being found, writing about their life, about what goes on around them, and about what they see is wrong. These bands love to play music, and they play their instruments for the love of music, not just the love of money. These bands make it big not because they were cast from a mould and marketed for success, but because they worked hard and had something that someone saw was great and the world should hear.

Television has gone from quality entertainment to reality tv about a bunch of guido oompa-loompas who think they're tough ****; celebrities who are famous for really nothing, or nothing good. People like Steve Irwin, Rolf Harris and Molly Meldrum got famous because they did something worthwhile that people found interesting and entertaining. The celebrities of today are just a bunch of monkeys flinging faeces at each other.

The youth of today. They wear pants with belts and yet their pants are falling off their arses. They wear hats but they're on wrong. They go drinking to get drunk, do drugs and have sex for no real reason. They prefer the latest "music" that all sounds the same, play the latest shooters that all look the same, and wear all the same clothes that all look the same. We have become a commercial society. We do not wear clothes, we wear brands. We don't eat food, we eat brands. We don't shop at stores, we shop at brands. We don't listen to music, we listen to brands. Television, the Internet and the very world around us are littered with advertisements. Our lives no longer have meaning. We're always searching for ways to live longer but we've no longer got a reason to live.

The attitude of youth today is appalling. High schoolers, and even primary schoolers are not respecting elders or anyone in any position of power, the only respect they give is to a bunch of teenyboppers and thugs who they try to emulate. These people don't give any morals, and these kids are not getting a good education because they just don't care. They don't read, and if countless facebook posts are anything to go by, they are barely literate and yet expect respect. One has to earn respect and admiration, and so many are getting it for no real reason. The ones they give their respect and admiration to are not the ones who should be getting it, and the ones who should are vilified and persecuted; or straight out ignored.

Rainy and other veterans have fought for their country, which is something to admire. However the countries they fight for don't respect them. They call them murderers, Westboro protest with heinous methods at their funerals, and this sickens me.
There is no respect for the police, for the military who risk their lives for us, and their is no gratitude. The US is trying to make the citizens ignorant sheeple who know nothing and fear everything; they seek to take away their guns, their voice and their freedom. The corporate countries want your money and they want a complacent crowd of sheep, not people. The countries i see are using scare tactics to get approval and are throwing around buzzwords to get the reaction they want.

That's it for tonight, but i have to say that right now isn't a good time for me.

Candlejack, you can't condemn a whole generation for that.

First, because not all individuals are like that, only the noisy ones, and second, because most of that stuff was a problem in previous generations too.

I had to deal with my fair share of BS with my generation when I was a teenager.
At least where I live, it was way worse 14 years ago.

Only the good stuff survives each generation and is remembered later, that's probably why the most recent generation always seem to be the worst, and the past is regarded with a higher esteem.

It's true that the leash on the youth is looser now with so much media exposure and the freedom of internet, but teenagers will always be rebellious by nature, and that is not a generational problem.

Candlejack, I agree with some of the stuff you said, but look at your example of artists. It's ironic what you said about Sid vicious, which was a parent's terror at that time. As we grow older, we hate the "today's trends", the same as our fathers did. It's natural.

I couldn't agree more. While I'm against easy access to weapons, I'm really concerned about how "they seek to take away their guns", and the feeling is getting worse after the Cumbre de las Americas took place.

And though Ermey fired from the hip and with a 5.56mm vs. the 7.62mm, it should give some of the non-shooters in the forums an idea of recoil and just how hard it is to fire off a continuous burst with much accuracy from either weapon. Had he had it shouldered, he'd have been all over the target as well. Big bullseye, really close......spread or recoil in a game is not such a terrible thing.....

There's crappy stuff in every generation. If you let it bother you so much that it makes you hate your own generation you're just a fool and have some serious issues.

I just generally love how people always think they're better than everyone else, especcially when they believe they're super-intelligent individuals who rise above the brainwashed mainstream mass-media crowd. If you really think like that or rather voice your thoughts about this directly then like I said, you must have some real issues.

You just HATE, HATE and HATE instead of minding your own business/concentrating on your own flaws first.

Yeah, I'm just sick of full-time haters. Either deal with reality or don't go on peoples' balls all of the time complaing about everything.

It's just super-annoying. I visit TWI off-topic forums to debate about games/read and/or post funny stuff for entertainment/sometimes have serious debates because it kills time. But over the recent few weeks the amount of whining and hate posts has increased so dramatically, maybe it has something to do with the absence of mods, but it's very annoying for sure.
