IS 2 greatest tank of ww2

More King Tigers were destroyed by their own crews

It is only because they realized the folly of their "Tractorous" ways and decided to go jump off a big cliff somewhere - of course after destroying the heathen Tiger.

"Der Tigger", as it was called by their crews, was destroyed by giving it a small kick in the side, and pronouncing the holy incantation "Schei

The is-2 had serious crew comfort issue,s. and it,s ammo consisted of 2 pieces so the average reload time was 2 per minute. The german army also tested the penetration power of the 122mm a-19 gun and proved it to be much less effective when the panther was standing at a 30 degree angle. also the barrel life of the gun itself was very short.

The best tank of the war if looked only at the tank itself without any logistical and industrial data taken into consideration is undoubtly the king tiger. The king tiger had the best frontal armor of any widly used ww2 tank(so no maus) and the 88mm kwk43 l/71 gun is considered the best gun ever put on a tank of ww2. it had atleast 3 times the rate of fire and a penetration of 203mm on 100m distance versus the is-2,s 175mm penetration at 100m distance. combine this with far better german optics and you get a much more reliable and superior gun. If the king tiger was used by an experienced tank crew with enough fuel at it,s disposal. it was the tank to figth with.

Much of the mechanical problems the king tiger had where caused by inexperienced crews. Ofcourse the king tiger had it,s limits like mobility issue,s(it still was damm fast for a 70 ton vehicle going at 38 kilomiters an hour on road. this speed is around the same of the is-2) and mechanical problems which would be an issue if the tank was handled by an inexperienced crew. The site achtung panzer even state,s that the overall reliability of the tiger 2 was better then that of the panther.

diffrent tank aces like kurt knispel never complained about the reliability of the tiger 2. I actually think no surviving german tiger tank driver ever said that there tanks where unreliable. while they are the ones who have driven those steel beasts. So is the tiger 2 that unreliable? i don,t think so really.

Let there be no question that the IS-2 is the greatest in all respects...

Logistics? The IS-2 is omnipresent and everywhere. Concern about where oneself is and where one must go, how much oneself costs to produce, and one's own mechanical reliability are worries that only inferior tanks need concern themselves with.

Aesthetics? There can be no doubt that military green armor with such a silhouette, emblazoned with patriotic slogans and revolutionary symbols, is a thing of beauty beyond compare. Helen of Troy may have launched a thousand ships, but the IS-2 scoffs at her plain, pedestrian features and lack of firepower.

Influence on modern armor? All postwar designers have either struggled in vain to approach the perfection that is the IS-2, or they have persuaded themselves of the futility of building tanks in his image and given themselves over to different and inferior designs.

Sex appeal? Can this even be doubted? Observe the paltry number of female servicemen of other combatant nations willing to follow their lesser tanks to the front, then remember if you will the legions of fervent admirers, hopelessly in love, who followed the tracks of the glorious IS-2 into the field? No woman can resist the chiseled features of its armor, nor the holy extent of its cannon.

Performance of miracles? It is said that during His visit to Japanese-occupied Manchuria, hundreds observed the Rapture of Japanese soldiers who vanished in a holy flash of light before the IS-2 as they moved to touch Him, seeking to blow themselves up in penitence for their adherence to the heathen tractors of Imperial Japan. It is said that a single steel bolt from the holy IS-2, contained within the Ark of the Covenant, was sufficient to utterly obliterate the walls of Jericho in the Holy Land of ancient times...

May the :IS2: see fit to bless you...

You are a true wordsmith Nikita. I just finished the mother of all work weeks and this has seriously made my day. May the eternal blessings of the :IS2: be upon you.

Also, PUNISHER, you have stumbled upon the crown jewels of the Tripwire Interactive forums. You must be new here, but in time, you will come to understand that benevolence and glory of the machine god.

Representation of faith is profound and timeless.

:IS2:

This is true Brother, forgive my ignorance.

For those who pray at the altar of :IS2: the concept of time gives no meaning. If one owns an :IS2: shirt one should wear it at all times and never wash it, as it might befoul the image of the :IS2:

In addition, the concept of smell is irrelevant to a true believer, so even if you get bad looks while wearing your T-shirt (which possibly reeks a bit) thou shalt ignore them.

Verily, the :IS2: shalt laugh all the heathen to scorn.
