There is a 26 part Canadian TV History of Vietnam, called 'Vietnam: The 10,000 Day War' (1981)'.

The American edition was edited down to 13 episodes (1 hour each).

PBS will broadcast documentary filmmaker Ken Burns 18.5 hour documentary on Vietnam in 2017 (it's still in production):

The Vietnam War, a film by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, is a

human dimensions of a tragedy of epic proportions that took the lives
