Ever heard of Project Reality?

Well, Combined Arms is a mod for Project Reality, which is in turn, a mod for Battlefield 2. :p

Anyhow, the game is essentially modern combat. Maps range from 4km by 4km, to 1 km by 1 km. So, big maps. Helicopters and jets are in, with their weapon systems modeled in function, as realistically as the engine allows. Tanks also have fire control systems, etc.

Factions in the mod are the US Army, US Marine Corp, Peoples' Liberation Army, Middle Eastern Coalition, and the British Army.

So, what exactly is different? More attention to detail for the vehicles?

IMO, its not even worth their time to waste on modeling the aircraft. Just remove them from the game altogether, since 4x4 KM maps are too small for them anyways.
More attention to detail for everything. Infantry is more realistic, and they scale everything to make 4x4 KM maps fit.

You really need to try it, and not just state thoughts about it without trying it.

I might give this a go, are there many servers?
Well, currently there is a single server, but it doesn't have any significant player numbers.

It's mostly lots of play testing to get bugs ironed out and content added. It's extremely close to being done though.

Same concern, this is probably the single thing why i never could fully enjoy any BF game
