For King or Country: The English Civil War
You don't need Kingdoms for this :)
The purpose of the mod is to simulate the first English civil war. The main aim is to accurately represent the two main factions, their leaders, their commanders and their armies. The mod aims to provide a unique battlefield experience by representing 17th century warfare, something that no M2:TW mod team has so far achieved.

Source Engine :

Age of Chivalry (on steam as well)

Age of Chivalry is a first person online medieval combat experience with a heavy focus on melee combat. objective-based team play and a variety of ranged, heavy/light melee classes.

Fistful of Frags

Fistful of Frags is a single/multiplayer modification for Source engine settled in the Old West.

Though i think development has recently stopped for FoF, it's still a good fun mod with a nice notoriety (weapon purchase/score) system even had bots for offline.

Battlefield 2

Project Reality http://www.realitymod.com/ : a huge mod that covers a lot of different modern conflicts fictional and non fictional, heavily realism based and team work based with a large comuninty and lots of servers.

Forgotten Hope 2 http://forgottenhope.warumdarum.de/main.php?lang=englishhttp://forgottenhope.warumdarum.de/main.php?lang=english : another massive BF2 mod set during WWII both the desert campaign and the Normandy campaign, FH2 follows on from the great FH1 for BF 1942. FH2 isn't as realism based as PR but it does offer a nice balance between BF2 and PR plus a big community and lots of severs.
