Trying my hand at commentary videos

So I have a bit too much time on my hands at the moment, so I figured I would try my hand at commentated videos. This is my first ever attempt at one: a 2016 review of ArmA 3.

There are a few buggy moments of sound in there, but unfortunately they were in the recording itself and not a result of the editing. Those recordings were a bit too long for me to want to redo them, but once I figure out more about the software and such, it shouldn't happen again. (that said, I'm uploading a video right now that has the same issue, because it was recorded closely after this one. I think I've got it figured out now though)

Next video that's coming up is a step by step explanation of how to create a 'steal the car' mission, and a shorter follow-up that explains how to add custom sounds to your mission. Hope you enjoy it!

Good stuff, but it's too long for a review and comes off a bit rambly. If you want to do a review, you can try to structure it a bit with sections. I found myself skipping throughout the video which made it even messier. Some editing instead of a straight 1-hour footage would have been nice.

Also I think the webcam is unnecessary and takes up 1/6th of the screen for no good reason. If you want to show your face and make it more personal, you can make an intro with only webcam feed only and then switch it off when you start showing gameplay footage.

Hi Rak, thanks for the feedback! I appreciate that.
I actually was working off of a small list that I wrote, but as I made my way through it new things kept popping up into my head that I felt needed explanation as well. It's hard to talk about a game of ArmA's scale and reduce it to a few bullet-points without missing depth, or at least that's my experience :D

I did edit it though, but since the pieces are so long you might have skipped over the transitions :p
Good point about the webcam. It's something to consider. It would help a bit if I don't have to remind myself to close my mouth when I'm not speaking

I made these videos shortly after the review video, so none of the feedback has been used yet. It took me a long time to set this up and upload it thanks to extremely spotty internet.

Anyway, having made several scenarios for ArmA 2/3 already, every once in a while I get questions about how I went about making them. So I figured that a video series would be the best thing to create!

In this three-part series I show you how to set up a 'Steal the car' scenario from start to finish, with explanations of how to set up triggers, create briefings, custom sounds, tasks etc.
In addition, I have uploaded the mission folder so people can have a look at the mission from within the Eden editor itself. That mission folder can be downloaded here:

If you just want to play the mission I created, you can find it on the Steam Workshop here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=642916921

And finally, here are the three tutorial videos:
