Not really. The way the maps play out is totally different.

Weapon mechanics and animations are much more clunky, but the idea of 1-2 shots to kill is present. There is also vastly more recoil and sway in Verdun, but then it also has Crosshairs. With this in mind, in some ways it's more hardcore, and in other ways it's less.

Overall graphics in Verdun are nowhere near as pretty as RO2.

Audio (gun sounds + explosions) is still WIP but in it's current state is extremely lacking. Voice acting is well done, on par with RO quality.

To be fair one thing that Verdun does do better than RO2 / RS is character models and historically accurate uniforms, and RO2 / RS does that fairly well.

I like verdun, it doesn't really play out like RO2/RS but if you enjoy RO2 you would most likly enjoy verdun, though RO2 has more polish (keep in mind verdun is being developed by like 3 people, so cut em some slack). However, verdun has some really cleaver gameplay elements (gas attacks and gas masks that obscure vision). It also gets better each update, so i vote go for it.
