Hi I recently change my render engine in the in game settings from open GL to direct 3D. However as a result the game crashes just after it shows the splash screen on startup now. So to try to reset the settings outside of the game I tried:

tl;dr: need to reset Killing Floor settings to default outside of game on linux
- Renaming gamine folder to ~Killing foor- get cant find executable message - does not run
- Deleting .ini files- crash after splash screen
- Going into default.ini and changng value for render engin to openGL - no effect
- uninstall and reinstall (obviously)- but no effect as it just reverts to the direct 3D render.
