Latest fixes

[Antediluvian]

One of the latest updates (either "End of the Line" or "1060") brought in a couple of issues:
1. Steam is not recognized as running (how the hell did I launch KF, then?) and has to be restarted for the game to work.
2. Player skin resets each time the game is started.

1. Something's wrong with your Steam Client.

1. & 2. Have you turned off the paging file feature in Windows 7? That happened to me when I did. Turning it back on fixed it for me.

1. I was able to launch KF without re-launching Steam up until this month. It may be Steam client's problem, but I don't know how to check it.

1. Rename clientregistry.blob and then check again. If it stay's the same you may want to completely reinstall Steam client but backup your steamapps folder.
2. Win XP is officialy not supported anymore and is way too outdated. Get either Win7 or Win8. If you have the choice, go with Win8.

Steam only runs the executable file (the .exe file) and doesn't do anything from there unless made to. So there is a problem with your steam client. If you're having to restart your steam client, this can be caused by a cracked steam game (known from others in the past) KF only requests for steam access when you want to access anything needed steam (achievements, stat progress, character etc).

Player skins usually mean you have a problem with getting it all saved. This also could be a local file. Make sure you verify your files and see if you get any file problems.

1. Bought the game on Steam, so it's definitely not cracked.
2. Perks progress is saved, skins were remembered too until recently.

I meant other games other then KF.

You must have a file stopping it from occuring so do a file verify on your KF. This may fix up any problems that may of occured from an update.

1. This might actually be the reason: I do have a game "on trial" and it's been installed in the first days of July.
2. Checked the files, found nothing wrong.
