Sound 5.1 sound?

It is a shame that we live in the 21st century and there are still games that don't support surround sound. Is there a way to enable 5.1 sound on KF? I actually have 7.1 sound so if there is a way to use it will be great ...

I have a Xfi Titanium HD soundcard and can use alchemy to enable surround sound.
You have to update creative alchemy to the latest version and then add killing floor in the Alchemy menu. (the system Folder).

1. Actually you just have to update all your drivers
2. Install Creative Alchemy
3. Update it
4. add Killing floor to it (....../Killing Floor/System)
5.Start Kf and check System Driver in the Audio Options and choose Hardware Sound (with or without EAX)

However Audio quality seems to suffer, when you do that. Atm i just play with fake surround CMSS 3d on my 5.1 speakers, which istn't too good but better then nothing in KF.

This just works with creative soundcards however.

There is another way to get perfect surround:
Uncheck the system driver in the Audio options. BUT this will result in bluescreens during gameplay sooner or later, so it's quite a bad fix.

I use my old Medusa headset with virtual surround sound and it works great. Maybe you haven't set up your headset properly.

I think he's talking about 7.1 or 5.1 Speakers, not a headset... The virtualy Surround seems to work quite well on headphones but on a real surround system the virtual stuff just might sound good but the sounds don't come from where thy should come form.

Yeah, this blows, I have an Auzentech Prelude 7.1 sound card (based on X-Fi), so it sadly uses Creative's reference drivers.

Auzentech released an update way back in Sept 2011 which was supposed to fix the BSOD with Alchemy and x64 Operating Systems, sadly it wasn't fixed.
