So does that mean it will show the amount of damage that a player has done to a zed, after it has attacked the zed?

Yeah, it shows output for each blow dealt (ie. per-bullet or melee hit), after all calculations have been done. So the actual damage the specimen has taken. Useful for seeing exactly how much damage a particular weapon does to a particular specimen, as well as seeing the difference a perk makes (requires a perk replacement mutator since this isn't white/greylisted).
