Yup.
I've done 3 faked HoE with a sharp as a m32/HC/SCAR mando. I've also held sides mostly by myself as a EBR/SCAR mando (demo got FPs). You don't have to use all on perk weapons to be effective....

Certainly not. I love a healthy mix of off-perk weapons. My post was just to say that if nothing else, then using the weapons you get benefits for is something.

Personally I love the Tommy guns. I ain't much use against a FP and might mess up with a Scrake (on Hard) but usually I'm not alone. My L5 Commando goes for Thompson SMG asap. Then I get the Rising Storm Tommy too. I either forego anything else or get MK32 for fun, since I love that gun. I take out the trash usually, keeping Crawlers off other players so they can focus on their primary targets. Recently I've been toying with the SCAR, and other "higher-end" guns instead of the RSTommy. But my accuracy with hip-fire with both Tommy guns means I get more headshots with means more damage anyways.
