Weird CTD occurring

This is far and away my favorite game to play on Steam and I've been playing this for several years. As of about a month ago the game started to CTD on launching with the bug report:

OS: Windows NT 6.1 (Build: 7601)

Does anyone know how to resolve this? Uninstaling/reinstalling and/or verifying cache don't seem to affect the CTD. On very rare occasions the game will load but none of the keys work aside from jump, a pretty strange and irritating bug.
