PC Game Hangs When Exiting to Home Menu or Desktop

Title. This happens 100% of the time. The game will hang for upwards of two minutes before it closes or returns to the title screen. It holds my PC hostage when it does this as well. I can ctrl+alt+del and open the task manager, but I can't access it to force close KF2. When I try to tab to different windows it just stays stuck on KF2.

This started happening with the beta.

dunno, for me it hanged the same way as it takes ages to load up since long load time problem began, and after a good session it takes nearly equally long to shut down.

The game hangs a lot, in general these days..

*load up screen for initial boot (always has)
*exit from menu to desktop when closing the game
*first few seconds of wave 1 on any game
*anytime your team kills the boss in endless (waves 5, 10, etc)

There are others, but in general, it's a bit annoying.
