Can't download custom maps, stuck at 0.0%

I'm surprised this isn't fixed yet... Was trying to search online for a solution but there doesn't to be any. It's kinda frustrating too even if I try manually to download them from here, I don't know where to place the files

Downloading maps from the workshop. I subscribe and what happens next? Where do the maps download to? Sigh... There isn't like some FAQ for this?

Can some kind soul help me? Hope this thread can help others too.

It downloads, the UI isn't updating properly. Go to the Steam Download window, and see the progress. Once you return to the game, the UI should refresh or work, or still be stuck at random %.

If it stays at 0% in Steam it might be the workshop item you try to download isn't available anymore publicly.
