The Controller Aiming Seriously Needs To Be Addressed

Since launch the controller aiming has been seriously clunky and a real hassle all because of a few glaring flaws, that fortunately can be fixed. I will be listing the problems, what needs to be fixed, and needed options to enhance the player experience.

1. The Deadzone Shape: The Deadzone is currently a Square shape, which makes aiming imprecise and feel clunky. The problem with a square Deadzone is firstly it prevents any diagonal movement along the X and Y axis, preventing the player from fine tuning his/her shot. Secondly because it's a Square, you have to push further on the diagonals just to register movement, which just feels bad.

Solution: Change the Deadzone Shape to a Circle. This allows more precise aiming and doesn't restrict diagonal movement, allowing the player to fine tune his/her aim more efficently.

2. Aiming Acceleration: Currently if you push your stick to the edge your sensitivity will drastically increase. The idea behind this is to have a slower turning sensitivity for aiming and the acceleration helps you turn faster. In theory this is great! In practice it's extremely clunky and jarring and takes away control from the player.

Solution: Add a Aiming Acceleration slider into the controller settings menu that allows players to adjust the amount of Aiming Acceleration they want, with values ranging from Zero to the Default Value. That way players who need this can adjust it to whatever they like, while those of us who don't want additional multipliers affecting our sensitivity can turn this off.

3. The Deadzone Size: The default Deadzone is 20% which is standard but some players prefer to have a smaller Deadzone, or none at all. The current size is too much for some players and really hinders their performance.

Solution: Add a Deadzone Size slider into the controller settings menu, with values ranging from Zero to Twenty percent, that way players who like the default 20% can keep it at 20%, while other players can lower it or even disable it entirely.

So please Tripwire, add these fixes in a future patch so that controller users can have a better experience on console and those who use it on PC. Honestly this shouldn't take you guys too long to implement and it will be great for the health and longevity of this game. Thank you for reading this and I and the rest of the community look forward to a future fix soon.

TLDR; 1. Change Deadzone Shape from Square to a Circle for more precise aiming
2. Add a Aiming Acceleration slider for the controller in the options menu
3. Add a Deadzone Size slider for the controller in the options menu
