Level Design SDK crash when loading packages after Win 10 update

So last night Windows 10 decided to install the latest "Creators Suite" or something update, which now results in my KF2 SDK crashing constantly when trying to load packages in the content browser.

It happens when "fully loading" map packages or when importing custom materials and such - but strangely enough only after the editor has been open for a good 30-40 seconds. Everything works fine for the first ~30 seconds or so after launching the SDK - so whatever is causing the crashes doesn't kick in until a certain time has passed.

Seemingly everything else works just fine. I can edit maps, load and save, copy/paste and actively map without issues just as long as I don't load any new packages or try to import anything. If I need to do that, I have to shut the editor down, restart it and then do it as quickly as possible.

The culprit in all logs seems to be the "Cmd: ACTOR SYNCBROWSER" as this line is the one that is called when loading packages, and in every log is the last action taken before the crash event is written.

Edit: The only way I can work without crashes is, right after starting the editor, to simply load ALL packages at once. But it also crashes whenever I load a different map.

Here's a snippet of the most recent crash event written to logs:

To me it looks like the problem is related to .Net Framework v4

I've tried downloading and updating it but the installation halts, saying that the latest version is already installed.
I've uninstalled and completely deleted Killing Floor 2 and the SDK, and all related folders and done a clean install of both. Still crashes.
I've updated both VCRedist_64 and _86, made no difference.

I'm hoping this can be resolved without having to do a new Windows re-install but it's starting to look like that might become a reality. Anyone have any ideas?
