Has anyone had success doing this? KF1-like graphics/atmosphere?

I didn't go too crazy messing around in the options menu but maybe there is something achievable by manually editing the game config files.

Has anyone dumbed down the graphics (since they are a bit on the shiny/clean side by default) and dimmed the gamma to a similar level that could almost pass for KF1? Just wondering..

I'm starting to tweak settings here and there, but I know I've only scratched the surface..

A map like Outpost would have a much more KF1-vibe just by dimming the heck out of the lighting.. which is what got me into the mood to mess around with game options.

They're called screen-space reflections (SSR). They are updated in real-time and work for every object, which is cool, because you can see every element of the game world reflected in the floor or walls, like in real life. Their downside is that they can only use the pixels from the screen space (as the name suggests), so you can't see the reflections of things which aren't visible on your screen. On the other hand, this property makes them a way smaller resource hog.
