I got most of my pics here. I used it when I was making my first map and used it again in remaking that map.

I know this wouldnt make a good map, but I remember watching the world at war, and the account from the german soldiers diary, seven days in a row of fighting in the elevator, constant fighting for 7 days. That is just unbelieveable. Mapping it migh be possible, but holy crap it would be impossible to play. I mean, there are no pictures from it (AFAIK) and why should there be.

Perhaps there are some places where it is better for games not to go.

Elevator, silo, same thing. Still, there are some places where games should not go, that is one of them. No game do to that experience justice.

Yeah, it was pretty buggy, there were some very unbalancing exploits. Hopefully someone will go back and make a better one at some point.

Another Stalingrad battle I'd like to see is a skirmish with the 138th Division's HQ in the Barrikady area. General Lyudnikov's headquarters unit was assaulted by 70 German assault troops, which were fought off by the general, his staff officers, 12 remaining men from the 179th Ind. Engineer Company and the six surviving HQ guards.

Looking at some of those pictures you can see how it could be done. Its not easy to fire through a crack in a wall from 50 meters away, especially if that means you can see it.

project yankee and I made a Silo-Map long time ago. It was one of the first maps I (we) made for RO. I was working on a remake of RO-Silo but was then hired by Tripwire

But well...who knows, maybe I will finish the map I started..

Thanks, really nice pictures. I think my favourite is probably the one Hyperion has as his sig for some reason.
