Default Arisaka Type 38 Vs Type 99

Played a lot with 38 model, got better ironsight (for me) without annoying hoodie on top of it. Somehow looks like Kar98 on lvl50. so is there any real diference between those guns ingame. I know they got diferent calibers in rl but is there any real reason/benefit to use Type 99 ingame

The general feel I guess. I know I'm probably wrong but I feel like the Type-99 has more stopping power and unf to it.

The Type 38 Arisaka fires a 6.5 mm round and I think is longer then the Type 99, the Type 99 Arisaka fires a 7.7 mm round. Basically the Type 99 is more modern replacement for the old Type 38 (1890's) designed battle rifle, the 7.7 mm round in the Type 99 was based on the British .303 and both rifles were roughly based on the early Mausers.

I'm not sure but i can easily imagine that Type 99 has more stopping power.
Type 38 gave me too many 'kill assists' and yes i'm still pretty lame with bolt actions so a kill assist is a success

I know all real life performance of both guns, but i need to know is there any ingame differences beside ironsight.

The type 99 hits harder, and I believe bolts a bit faster, but is less accurate then the Type 38, because of the shorter barrel.

From what I've seen in-game, I believe this is true.

I know the strength and accuracy bits are correct, the only part I am un-sure of is the bolting speed.

I'm sure there is a bolting speed difference, but I don't recall which is the faster one.

Love the 99 with the aperture sight.

I like the 38 better. Better sights, IMO, and most of the enemies I've hit with it dies.

I prefer the 99 Type. It gives more punch, or at least I feel it this way.

i generally choose type 38 if we're going to be banzaiing a lot (guadalcanal) and type 99 if we probably won't do any (iwo jima).

I thought both rifles came with a bayonet at level 0? Why would the Type 38 be better for banzai charges, i'm sure the few cm length difference between the rifles will be somewhat negligible in a in-game bayonet charge situation?

hmm I looked it up and it is in fact a six inch difference. However, I'm really bad at meleeing, I always either miss or let my bayo go to early, so I just feel better with a longer rifle, also I like to mix it up and I don't have any problems with either rifle, tbh I haven't really noticed the differences.

Type 38 is less likely to kill in one shot. The default sight picture on the Type 99 is actually the 300 meter battle sight.
