Default linux steam texture errors

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile.../?id=123201662
i have a few others, havnt played much under linux lately, my connection is down(i know solo but its more fun with others) map is ice breaker
gpu is a geforce 55m(yeah i know, laptop, but still under window it ran max detail+use the nv control panel maxing out everything and still a smooth framerate with this gpu)
just figured it would be good to report it, think im using 304 driver, since its a laptop, i have touse whatever comes with bumblebee as that the only way u can use a nvidia gpu in a laptop
note, running ubuntu 12.04
i5 2430
8gb ram
1tb hdd
geforce 555m+intel 3000hd
also, under the intel3000hd, it runs, still texture error, and smooth, unless there is a firebug, as soon as a flamethrower is around, it slows the whole system down, i've die many times because of this, even a husk fireing his cannon off the fire from it makes it slow down
dont know why tho, my cpu's max speed in turbo mode is3GHz, i've monitored it to check it out, must just be the intel igp
also, if i use optirun with bumblebee, i cant play KF at all, but i installed primusrun and i can use that, also, much better performance with all openGL/3D stuff with useing primusrun

The texture errors, from what I've been able to gather from other steam for linux players, happen to all NVidia users. Or at least, every NVidia user I've talked to. Here's a few of mine from a quick run through Moon Base:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile.../?id=124234054
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile.../?id=124234061
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile.../?id=124234067

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile.../?id=124234087
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile.../?id=124234094

Specific issues:
  • With rare exceptions, you can't see through the view of the M99 scope, there are specific spots where the view looks "dirty" for lack of a better word, like the scope is caked with mud. Other areas it's completely black, or if it's unusually bright, you'll see a very dark dingy view of what you are trying to look at.
  • Any metallic surface that has a light source on it looks like the screencaps above show. Some metallic surfaces don't appear to have a light source on them, but look this way anyway.
  • Floors that have a layer of water on them are the same as above.
  • The water in the Wyre level look like it's some sort of thick white mud
  • In farm the giant water containers (or what ever they are) are semi-transparent unless a light source is shining on them (like a flashlight, or close to a farm house with lights on it)
  • Stalkers aren't invisible, though the textures are bizarre. Sometimes a transparent (like the water containers) dark grey, sometimes this whitish reflective appearance, seems to depend on the level.
  • Unless a light source is on the Scrakes, they are fairly transparent

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Update on the Scope. I found by switching from Model (low or high) to Texture fixes that issue. Apparently the render by Model seems to be the problem.

Default Same

I get the exact same problem. Textures are absent on certain floors. I am running the Steam for Linux version of the game.

Example:
http://imm.io/XLZl

System information:
Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit
Unity desktop environment
nVidia GeForce GT 240 1GB GDDR5
nVidia 310.14 experimental drivers

Default Same problem

Just bought this game. Pretty cool!

I have exactly the same problem.

Graphics card is an NVIDIA GTX 550Ti (which is about equal in capability to a GTX 460).

OS is Linux Mint 14 KDE edition, which is basically just a reskinned Ubuntu 12.04 with a few goodies installed. I don't think the OS affects this much.

Please fix this little niggle! Thank you.
